SNA participation in IEEE VTC2025-Fall (Chengdu, China)

From October 19 to 22, 2025, Andrés Maigualema Quimbita, member of the Air Navigation Systems (SNA) research group at ITACA Institute – Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), took part in the 2025 IEEE 102nd Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2025-Fall) held in Chengdu, China.

During the event, Andrés delivered an oral presentation of the paper entitled:

“Geo-Intelligent Handover and Dynamic Selection PRx-DOP: Maximizing 5G UAV Positioning Accuracy in Complex Real Urban Areas.”

The presented research focuses on enhancing 5G-based positioning accuracy for UAVs operating in complex urban environments through an adaptive, geo-intelligent handover mechanism and a dynamic PRx-DOP selection approach.

This work has been developed within the framework of the SPIRIT-UCS project, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (MCIN) and the State Research Agency (AEI) under grant PID2022-141829OB-I00, and co-funded by the European Social Fund Plus (FSE+).

Congratulations to Andrés for his outstanding representation of our group and for showcasing SNA’s ongoing contributions to advanced 5G, UAV, and positioning research at the international level.
