SNA Lab researchers at the Engage 2 Summer School 2025
Two members of the SNA Lab – Universitat Politècnica de València, Brando Fariz and Alex Sanchis, participated in the Engage 2 Summer School 2025, which took place from 23 to 27 September in Braunschweig, Germany.
The Summer School gathered young researchers and PhD students from all over Europe, offering a unique opportunity to strengthen technical expertise in Air Traffic Management (ATM) while fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange within the international SESAR research community.
The programme included a series of specialised tutorials covering:
- Agent-based fast time simulation in ATM.
- Mathematical programming techniques for modelling air traffic.
- Mercury simulation tool.
- BlueSky simulation tool.
- The use of synthetic data in airline disruption management.
- Event-driven airport simulation.
Thanks to this initiative, participants gained hands-on experience in advanced modelling and simulation methodologies, directly applicable to the challenges of the future air traffic system.
We would like to congratulate Brando and Alex for their active engagement and valuable contributions during the sessions.
We also had the pleasure of reconnecting with Alex Ganau, a former member of our group and currently at Collins Aerospace, who remains a highly valued colleague for the SNA Lab team.
Below we share some pictures of their participation at the Summer School.
